During the youth, Pilates was concerned by fitness, in order to improve their physical appearance and the strengthen of the imune system.
As he get older, he become an expert in gymnastics, boxing, cycling being too a practitioner versed of karate exercises and yoga.
Self-tought, he ended up creating a full set of activities who combines the oriental mentality with the occidental one – qymnastics and yoga, exercises for body and psychic- what is watching the body”s strenghten and the mind”s relaxation.
